CEO's Message

Under the vision of His Highness the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, the government has established, within a short span of time, the foundation for comprehensive and all-around development in all sectors. Qatar has fortified its position in the maritime sector both regionally and globally through Mwani Qatar

Mwani Qatar’s strategy is to implement the ambitious developments of the government under the patronage of the Ministry of Transport by promoting this vital economic sector and maximize its contribution to Qatar’s national economy, within the guidelines of Qatar National Vision 2030. Through its dual emphasis on continuous improvement across its shipping lines and by enhancing its focus on better meeting the needs of its customers, Mwani Qatar is hoping to make Qatar the first port of call for shipping lines operating in the region and beyond.

We at Mwani Qatar manage Hamad Port, Old Doha Port and Ruwais Port, which support stability of the local markets and implementation of the State development projects, as far as the smooth handling of imports and exports and related supplies for both current and future planned projects.

Hamad Port is at the forefront of the regional economy, which makes it a cornerstone of our country’s economic development. The port is committed to providing adequate and state of the art infrastructures to all its current and future users, as well as to encouraging the realization of growth-generating projects.

In full flow, Hamad Port inevitably would be Qatar’s strategic gateway that will greatly contribute to the region’s economic development. Direct services to Hamad Port in recent times have reduced long waiting periods for consignees to receive their goods.

Mwani Qatar has inked agreements with a number of local, regional and international players to strengthen Hamad Port’s status in the region.

Doha Port- Qatar’s Gateway for Marine Tourism is on redevelopment mode and will hopefully be a future hub port for cruise ships and luxury yachts of all sizes. Once completed, the port would be ready to host multiple mega ships at the same time.

Al-Ruwais Port- Qatar’s Northern Gateway to Trade will be moving ahead with advanced development that would include marine facilities for leisure wooden dhows and the fishing harbor as well as building facilities for the fishing harbor.

The newly opened Al Mina market is dedicated to selling a wide spectrum of goods imported via merchant ships to Al-Ruwais port from different parts of the region. This concept is uniquely blended with heritage and modern elements of today’s marketplace.

Mwani Qatar is driven by a diversified team of qualified Qatari nationals with a multinational community of industry best professionals who have extensive international experience in port development and management, including broad technical, and management skills that will help the company meet its strategic goals.
