On behalf of my colleagues at Qatar Ports Management Company, it gives me great pleasure to welcome readers on information about Doha Port and the world's most exciting new port development now taking shape near our capital city.
In just over four years time we will be opening the first phase of a brand new, world-class port for the city of Doha, the people of Qatar, citizens of the Arabian Gulf and our partners in the international maritime and logistics industries. But this will not just be another regional seaport.
It will be a deepsea gateway with a massive difference on a global scale, offering logistics operators, shipping and cruise lines a wide choice of purpose-built facilities that will soon become the envy of the transport world.

By the time the port is fully completed in 2025, we will be able to offer a choice general cargo terminal, a multi-use terminal for the handling of bulk grain, importation of vehicles and landing of livestock shipments. There will also be a world-class cruise terminal for the largest ship, the finest port marine unit in the region and an offshore supply base that promises to be second to none.
This new port is being made possible thanks to the vision and wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar, who has always believed our country is a world leader in business and commerce – including deepsea transport of which we are now poised to become the Gulf's region leading maritime hub.
